An oiled leather foldaway hat that looks broken in from day one

The 1060 Foldaway Bronco is a fullgrain cattle leather outback hat with a vintage oiled and waxed finish, handcrafted in Minnesota and made to look old the day it arrives. It folds into the travel bag that comes with it, so a good leather hat can go wherever you go.

Fullgrain means the outer grain layer of the hide is still there. That’s the tough part of the leather, and it’s the part that soaks up the oil and wax. Out of the box the finish already has some shading to it. Give it a season and it picks up more: darker spots where your hand grabs the brim, marks from brush and rain. Nobody will mistake it for a new hat. That’s the point.

Fold it into the bag for a flight, or toss it behind the pickup seat. The leather is water resistant with 50+ UV protection, so it earns its keep at the lake, in the garden, at the county fair or out checking fence. Colors and fit

Choose Black, Brown, Driftwood, Olive or Rustic.

Getting the size right is easy. Measure around your forehead about a finger’s width above the eyebrows, then match it to the size chart. Between two sizes? If the hat gets soaked, let it air dry at room temperature away from heaters, and condition the leather now and then.

    I had one of these hats for…20? years. I used to wear it everywhere. I don’t remember why I stopped wearing it. Recently, I got it out for a trip, it is great because it folds up. I wore it for a couple of days, and then the brim pulled away. What was I thinking? That it would last a lifetime? This is a great hat. It will last many years. it is well worth the price.

    I also own one and wear it often, expecially in the winter. Keeps my head warm (no hair) and dry. Hat is very well made and has held together well. I always get compliments. I call it my Clint Eastwood hat. Not sure why the video has all girls wearing these hats, as I think it looks very good on a man. I highly recommend it.

    Purchased this hat in 2021. It has held up exceedingly well. In fact, I had treated it with kid gloves for years. Then, life took over and it got stuffed in the folded back seat of my truck from fall of 2025 until the summer of 2026. Dug it out and it’s just the same. Perfect fit, no creases, no folds. I absolutely have to get another one in a different color because no other hat has EVER held up this well.
