The 1018 Distressed Kangaroo is a foldable outback hat in Australian distressed kangaroo leather, handcrafted in Minnesota, USA. Some people want a hat that looks brand new. This one is for the other crowd.

The natural waxed distressed finish gives the leather an uneven, weathered surface right out of the box. Wear only adds to it. Waxed leather darkens and marks as it’s handled, rained on and folded, and on a distressed hide those changes blend right in instead of standing out. There are three colors to choose from: Ash, Moss and Whiskey.

Kangaroo is a thin leather known for being strong for its weight, so the hat stays comfortable on a long day of hiking or working outside. It’s water resistant and has 50+ UV protection. When you don’t need it, fold it into the travel bag that comes with it and drop it in your pack or suitcase.

Fit made easy

Sizes go from Small to XXLarge on our leather hat chart. To measure, run a soft tape around your forehead about a finger’s width above the eyebrows and just above the ears. A free Hat Sizing Kit comes with this hat: two foam strips that go under the sweatband so you can fine-tune the fit. Between sizes? Choose the larger size and use the sizing kit to fine-tune the fit.
