Barmah squashy hats are leather outback hats you can crush, pack and pop back into shape. They’re handcrafted in Minnesota, USA in fullgrain cattle, bison and goat leather, and shipping in the US is free.

What makes a hat "squashy"?

Squashy hats are made to be crushed, rolled or packed and then reshaped by hand, so they're a practical choice for travel, fishing, hiking and ranch work, where a stiff hat would get bent out of shape. Most fold into a supplied travel bag. The leathers are water resistant with 50+ UV protection, and the brim is about 2 5/8 inches at the sides and 3 1/8 inches at the back, with a 4-inch crown.

Choose your leather: the oiled, made-to-look-old 1022 Squashy Bronco (also available with a Cooper Crossing hatband), the oiled suede 1024 Squashy Oiled, the smooth American cattle leather 1026 Squashy Fullgrain, the American bison 1085 Squashy Bison, the soft, thin 2055 Squashy Goat, or the bison 1033 Bison Outback Crocodile with a genuine crocodile leather hatband and crocodile teeth.

Fit and shipping

Most squashy hats come with a free hat sizing kit, so you can adjust the fit at home. Shipping is free within the US. Because of wildlife protection laws, the 1033 can't be shipped to California.
